To get to the Flathead Valley, you’ll be flying into Glacier Park International Airport (FCA).  Most flights to FCA require a connection - Alaska (SEA), Delta (MSP/SLC), and United (DEN) offer daily service year-round.  Allegiant offers bi-weekly service from Las Vegas and Phoenix.  Seasonal service may offer up more options from additional locations, typically on a bi-weekly basis. 

The airport is centrally located in the valley and is ~10 miles from Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and Kalispell.  All major rental car companies are available at the airport.  Rentals can be limited, those in need of a rental shouldn’t wait until the last minute.  While Uber and Lyft have become more popular, they’re still limited and shouldn’t be relied upon for getting around.  There’s a lot of land under that Big Sky and you’re going to need some wheels, especially if you’re interested in doing some exploring.

For those with a little more time on their hands, adventurous souls seeking to experience a novel slice of Americana, and those that still travel with a steamer trunk and keep time with a pocket watch, the Amtrak Empire Builder runs between Seattle and Chicago and makes a stop in Whitefish.  It’s a great way to see the country, just don’t be surprised if you’re not on time or if you see a chicken in the overhead baggage compartment.
