WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE IN MONTANA?

We know this is a long trip for many, so we encourage you to come early and stay late if possible. We hope you’ll use our wedding weekend as an excuse to extend your trip and experience some beautiful places you’ve never been! If coming just in time for wedding festivities, arriving on Thursday still gives you time to attend the rodeo with us Thursday night in Kalispell (NW Montana Fair + Rodeo). If you do plan to spend some extra time in the Flathead Valley, check out our top picks!

WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED?

For our ceremony and reception at Green Valley Ranch on Saturday, August 17th, there will be shuttles running from various locations in Whitefish starting at 3:45pm. Details are still being worked out, but shuttles starting at a few different Whitefish hotels will pick up at 3:45pm. If you are staying at Cedar Creek Lodge (Columbia Falls) a shuttle will pick you up at 4:00pm. If you are staying elsewhere in Whitefish, you can walk to one of these hotels or park at the Whitefish Train Depot, as a shuttle will also pick up there. Shuttles will run continuously to and from Green Valley Ranch to the pick-up points throughout the evening. Uber/Lyft options are very limited and shouldn’t be relied on for travel to and from the ceremony.

ARE RENTAL CARS AVAILABLE?

Rental cars are extremely limited, so don’t wait until the last minute to book if you’re planning to rent one (we do recommend renting a car if possible). Most major rental car companies are located at Glacier Park International Airport.

CAN I GET AROUND WITHOUT A CAR?

Several hotels that we have listed as options have shuttles to and from the airport, as well as to various downtown Whitefish locations. There are a few options in downtown Whitefish to rent bikes to explore/get around: Glacier Cyclery, Great Northern Cycle, and Whitefish Outfitters. If you have a desire to explore the area outside of Whitefish or visit Glacier Park you may want to look into renting a car.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Welcome Party at Blackstar - WESTERN CHIC: Think cocktail with festive western flair —denim, fringe, western hats, bolo ties, boots—so, more relaxed than typical cocktail attire (sundresses welcome, ties and jackets not necessary if you don’t want!).

Ceremony + Reception at Green Valley Ranch - SUMMER BLACK TIE: Black tie with a seasonal twist. Tuxes, full-length formal dresses. Bright colors, patterns, summer fabrics encouraged! Keep in mind that the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, followed by a tented reception.
